1. Who we are

Clerqpay ("we", "us", "our") is an invoicing and payments platform built for African freelancers and small businesses. Our registered contact email is hello@clerqpay.com.

2. Data we collect

• Account data: your name, email address, and password (hashed).
• Business data: business name, logo, brand colour, bank account details you enter.
• Client data: names and email addresses of your clients that you add to Clerqpay.
• Invoice & payment data: invoice amounts, line items, payment records, and transaction references.
• Usage data: pages visited, feature usage, error logs — collected via Vercel Analytics.

3. How we use your data

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Clerqpay service.
• To send invoices and receipts on your behalf to your clients.
• To process subscription payments via Slingpay.
• To send product updates and billing notifications (you can unsubscribe at any time).
• To comply with applicable laws and resolve disputes.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers that help us operate Clerqpay:

• Supabase — database and authentication.
• AWS SES / Resend — transactional email delivery.
• Paystack — online payment processing (your clients' card data goes directly to Paystack; we never see raw card numbers).
• Slingpay — subscription billing.
• Vercel — hosting and analytics.

5. Data retention

We retain your account and invoice data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you. Email hello@clerqpay.com to make a request.

7. Cookies

Clerqpay uses strictly necessary cookies for authentication (session tokens set by Supabase). We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a banner in the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
